Re-Enter Gmail App Password
If you have changed the Gmail account password from the web browser like Firefox, chrome or IE, the Gmail app on your phone will throw an error in the notification bar. It will say “Action Required“. All you need to do is click on the respective notification bar. It will take you to the account setup and configuration page. Just enter the new password and your account will be set.
If your account is not set even after entering the new password, please try the following suggestions:
- Re-enter the password manually – Open Gmail app and try to refresh by dragging down on the screen. The screen will prompt for the password if required.
- Remove the account and add the google account – From your android phone open settings app —> Apps –> Select Account –> Tap on Menu –> Remove Account. You can add the account from the same settings page.
- Uninstall and reinstall the Gmail app from play store
